“So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who make things grow. The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building” – 1 Corinthians 3:7-9
We are workers of God to advance His kingdom. Each one of us has a task to do as His workers. Some are assigned to be planters of the seed and some waters the seed.
The planters are those believers who imparted the word to other people by sharing their own testimony on how God changed their life, on how they live their lives according to the Word (by having a Christ-like life) and by sharing the Word itself.
The believers who water the seeds are those who cultivate the seeds already planted. They help people to grow in their faith, by continuously sharing the word and guide them in their walk of faith.
But all of these are as nothing without God who make the seed grows, giving it vitality and life. It is only through God we are saved, we gained eternal life, grow in our faith and receive blessings.
As workers of God, each one of us will be rewarded as a servant according to his own labor. And you know that this reward is not just an ordinary reward. It is God who will give the reward and because He is generous and graceful, the reward we will receive is more than what we expected and nothing in this world can ever be compared to the reward He has for us.
Don’t feel down if there are persons to whom you shared the gospel did not accept Jesus Christ. It is not you who will make them accept Jesus, it is God himself. God will send other people to water the seed and God will let the seed grow and eventually, be ready for harvest.
We just do the task God gave us and He will do the rest…
