There are times we think “I need to do this, I need to do that” to serve people because of God’s love for us.
But did you feel overwhelmed by so many these and those things you think you need to do to serve? Did you feel tired or burned out?
This is because you are doing more than what God expects you to do. Just like the story of Moses in Exodus 18.
When his father-in-law saw all that Moses was doing for the people, he said, “What is this you are doing for the people? Why do you alone sit as judge, while all these people stand around you from morning till evening?… Moses’ father-in-law replied, “What you are doing is not good. You and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves out. The work is too heavy for you; you cannot handle it alone.” – Exodus 18:14,17-18
You cannot do things beyond what God wants you to do even you think you need to do these for the church. You will just end up weary, tired, or burned out. Seek and pray to God on what His will for you to do for the church. With this, you will not get tired, you can serve God excellently and you will not grab others who are chosen to do these things.
