Previously, I tackled about discovering your core values. In this blog, we will dig deeper in our strengths and values and understand how these two factors correlate with each other.
Are you ready?
STEP 1: List down the key moments in your life – both the highs and the lows.
List down these key moments, for example: graduation, receiving an award, promotion lost of a family or someone close to you, heart breaks.
STEP 2: Rank these key moments according to the highs and lows based on how these made you feel.
STEP 3: Identify the highest of the highs and the lowest of the lows.
STEP 4: Dig Deeper in your highest of the highs and the lowest of the lows key moments.
What are the emotions or feelings you had back then? Who was/were there? What happened? What were you doing? Why did you consider these as your highest and lowest, respectively? What are the Strengths that were hungry (needs not met) or fed (needs met, you brought value, you were energized)?
STEP 5: Identify the values that were recognized or violated in these moments
Now, look at your values. What values were developed? What values were violated? What values were recognized? What patterns do you notice?
Refer to the list of values from Gallup in my previous post: https://jeromerevilla.net/2020/10/31/discover-your-core-values/.
STEP 6: How do the values you discovered in the highest of the highs and lowest of the lows key moments correlate to your Top 5 Strengths?
That’s it! I hope you learned something new about your self through strengths and your values through this 6-step guide! Happy Soaring Strengths!
